Jai Guru Datta

A verse in a sloka called `Hanuman Mangalashtakam' depicts the Lord thus and

runs as follows:

``Suvarchalaa kalathraaya chaturbhuja dharaaya cha

Ushtraa roodhaya veeraya mangalam Sri Hanumathe.''

The meaning is: ``Salutations to Lord Hanuman, having four arms, accompanied by

His consort Suvarchala Devi, seated on a camel and exhibiting extraordinary

valour.''

another meaning is:

Mangalam to Sri Hanuman,

Who is the consort of Suvarchala[1],

Who had four arms,

And who is the hero who rides,

On a beam of light.

Jaya Veera Hanuman!!!

Dear Friends,

Nalini from Denmark wrote to me and told me that when she was in Trinidad one

time Swami Manasa Datta told her that the name of Hanumans Vahana was Ushtra.

Thanks for a piece of the puzzle.

Anyone else have anything?,
