Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta, This is certainly very good seva. If I may suggest - we can further smoothen your suggested process by standardizing the list of materials for every library. How this will help: Devotees won't have to think what specific materials to include and use a recommended list that has every item suitable for the general public to start with. This will save time because DYCs in various cities will only to execute and not plan. May be this can include a few suitable " starter or introduction " books, selected Healing CDs etc. In brief, I am suggesting that this list be decided upon centrally to make it smoother to approach the library with a standard list. Success is dependent upon how well we approach a public library institution especially where spiritual material is involved; so that we can maximize the receptiveness to the idea. Please let me know what you think. It would be wonderful to have Sri Swamiji’s Healing Music CDs, DVDs, and books in every major public library, and important branch library in the US. If each one of us puts in some timely effort, together we can make this happen by this Guru Purnima.  I am earnestly requesting your help. It is easy.  Most public libraries have a policy that items received as gifts or donations go directly to book sales through Friends of the Library, and not to the library shelves for circulation to patrons, unless there is a specific request from the patrons of the library for those items to be placed in the collection. This is where your help is needed.  If you have a library card, (if not, please obtain one), use it to put in a written request at your local public library (you can do it in person or online). Submit a list of items that you would like the library to acquire, of Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji’s books, CDs, and DVDs for the benefit of the community, including yourself, your family and friends.  If you put in the request, and let me know, I will contact the concerned librarian to offer to donate some of the materials (courtesy dycusa) from the list to the library. Let us work hand-in-hand to make this a successful project.  I will be happy to send you an email attachment of a descriptive list of selected items that are available, and newspaper articles about Sri Swamiji, to give to the librarian along with your request. You may choose specific items from the list for your local library, and I will try to include some of them in the package, if they are willing to accept the donation.  Kindly do it within the next few days.  It will take time for the materials to be shipped, cataloged and added to the collection after we succeed in making the libraries agree to  accepting the items.  This will be a very significant seva that every one of us can perform. Please let us do this. Swamiji will be very happy. I am sure many persons will benefit.  Please reply to my email address if you wish to participate in this seva. Thank you all. I pray for Sri Swamiji's blessings and guidance for this effort.  Hira Sri Guru Datta
