Jai Sai Ram I have also seen the photos with some heavy heart.. But as per ethics, Ganesha idol to be made up from mother earth (one of the panja boothams) and to be immersed in water (another panja bootham). It is the case of humans also (appearing from mother nature and disolving in mother nature). After making the Ganesha idols, we keep them in pooja and give them life through Prana Pradishta. After punarpooja, 'ethasthanam' is being done and the idol becomes a mere earth. Hence the photos are to be seen as mere earth and not as Ganasha. We adore ouselves with lot of cloths, makeups etc. when we are alive. But after our life goes, we become a mere corpse and burning the corpse may be very difficult to watch by near and dear. But I can only say that these idols may be put in to the deep sea so that they may not be washed ashore and pose painul look to on lookers. Jaisairam, Ananthsairam.emagzine1/01.mid">

Thanks for sending this mail.

You are absolutely right....you cannot educate the mad people of a nation, unless, they them selves realize what is wrong and what is right.....instead of wasting money to make such a big idols, if they should have used the money for some good cause such as, feeding the poor, giving cloths, shelter or even cleaning the city etc....etc... would have been much much better.

What to do our nation is like this.....they only to fight each other...

Sai Ram to all,I remember very well. In my childhood days on Ganesh Chatirthi day early in the morning we used to buy from the people who used to make small fresh clay idols of Ganesha for this special occasion. These small idols as they were made with fresh clay and very small ones, even after they were put to Nimajjan in the river waters or sea waters they did not do any harm and pollute the rivers and seas, and they simply were melted in the waters with out causing any ambiental destruction. And that ritual of Nimajjan was holy and with respect and devotion to God. But now a days as every thing became extremely money making process there is no more devotion, respect and care for the ambient. See how the condition and fate of the gigantic idols fabricated for the Ganesh Chaturthi in these present days. If any one really adored and respected that idol as God how they could allow to happen to that same idol they adored? Is it faith? is it respect to God? it is the time to reflect!!!
