Sai-Satsang in 4 centers continued

(week ending 31st May, Thursday)

Sairam to all Children, Sisters and Sai Brothers

in all 4 Sai SatSanghs in Dammam, Jubail, Jeddah and

Riyadh.

We continue with the seventeenth (17) posting of the

activities of all 4 centers.

Summary:

1) Total Attendance all over Saudi over 110.

2) Riyadh center look spruced up

3) Appeal to support New SAI hospital project in India

Details:

In Dammam the weekly satsang was held on the evening

of Tuesday 29th May at Bro. Ganesan (SAFCO) residence.

The attendance was by about 25 members. He was leaving

the next day for his son’s upanayanam in Chennai, and

he took the Aarthi. Study circle was postponed to next

week. We all of course, convey our heartfelt

felicitations, to the young boy and his parents on

this occasion and welcome him to the world of Gayathri

japas.

Jubail center held the weekly Satsang on Thursday 31st

May at 7.30 pm attended by about 18 members at Bro

Swamy Mahadevan’s residence. Aarthi was taken once

again by Bro Jayaraman, one of the 5 members Dammam

devotees who attended. Bro Gopal from Jubail has now

come forward to handle the library books. We wish them

a success – Happy reading.

Jeddah had arranged the Bhajan this week on 31st May,

Thursday at 7.30 PM at Al-Rehab Residence of Bro

K.P.Rajan and attended by 24 members. Mr. T. Sridhar,

guest of an old Sai devotee from Nigeria performed

Aarthi. Thought for the day read out by Br. Ashok

Kumar’s daughter. From the next week Bhajan onwards,

they intend to start the session with reciting of Sri

Sathya Sai Ashtothra nama (108). Some readily

available books among some members were circulated and

exchanged which is a good initiative.

Riyadh group held the weekly Bhajan on Thursday 29th

May evening from 6.00 am till about 8 pm. It was

attended by about 45 members. The aarthi was taken by

Bro Ravi who was celebrating his marriage anniversary

with Mathangi now in Chennai. Bro Ravi (SABIC) read

the weekly extracts from Shirdi Sai SatCharitha. A few

more couples were also celebrating their wedding

anniversary such as: Rama-Suresh, Malathi- Gops,

Banu-Manishekar,Roopa-Dev and Sharmila-Srinivas. (If I

had left out any names, my apologies). Together they

hosted the satsang a nice dinner. Thank you and

“Wishing you all many Happy Years and Anniversaries”.

Incidentally Janani, daughter of Bro Ravi SABIC and

Dr. Lakshmi scored an outstanding 94% in the 10 std

CBSE result just announced. Their son is shortly

proceeding to higher studies in Engg at

Colorado-Boulder University, USA. If anyone knows more

information about the university, pl send it to them

or call or SMS him on his mobile: 0509824574.

Riyadh center look has been spruced up. The present

seating capacity is60 devotees. Bro Packy asked me

specifically not to say more, May be he wants

everyone to discover it for themselves and not told.

Bro Packy made an announcement about a new SAI Baba

project- 250 bed hospital in Thane on a 50 acre plot

serving rural medicare and destitute mothers and

children. SAI movement never explicitly solicits funds

(e.g. the circular from Uncle Choithram, Region-94

(Gulf) coordinator, mentions the project in detail but

does not ask for money). So I just mention that center

co-coordinators are now collecting voluntary donations

and they may be all pooled together by Bro Packy and

sent to the concerned SAI Trust as our way of

participating and supporting the project. SAIRAM.

I request the members reading this mail to suggest

their views on how this weekly newsletter may be

improved. You are free to criticize the present format

which can be changed. I also request that young

teenagers from the various centers start posting small

articles on the activities of their centers or

questions they may have, to improve their own writing

skills.

Yesterday I happened to be in the panel of judges at

Inter-Indian schools debating competition in Riyadh.

10 children from Junior section (Vi, VII & VIII)

spoke- For and against “ Is the Media too intrusive”.

An equal number of children in senior classes (IX & X)

spoke- For and against “In the present scenario, Peace

is more important than Pace”. 2 children from 5 Indian

schools in Riyadh participated in each session and was

held at Delhi public school premises in Riyadh. If any

of the Balvikas children wish to gauge themselves

against such a group, Pl send me an e-mail on what you

would have spoken if present ( it was just 3 minute

each) and I can give you a feed back benchmarking your

note against those who won the competition. Children

must realize that in future world, communication

skills are going to play a more crucial role in

individual success among the more intense competition

found now a days.

Sairam and Pranams to all.

P.B.V.Rajan
