Guest guest
Jaya Guru Datta. Sri Swamiji arrived at DRC on Sunday morning to the sounds of chanting coming from the newly enclosed Unity Hall while a crowd gathered in anticipation for the first sight of our beloved Sadgurudeva. An estimated 500-600 people attended the day-long program which included a marriage in the temple, homa and Sri Chakra puja which was performed in front of the breathtaking new 42 " crystal Shiva lingham in Unity Hall. When the curtains were drawn to reveal its majestic form I thought to myself... " Mt. Kailash has come to DRC! " It rests with a powerfully quiet presence in the ciruclar " Yoni " from which a constant gentle flow of water spills down the sides of a pyramid base and into the square foundation. Swamiji said that if you look into the crystal you can see the himalayas, clouds and sky. I couldn't help but think of the Ganga pouring over Shiva's matted locks. With Swamiji offering puja in front of, and to, the lingham, it was Shiva offering and Shiva receiving. One could not help but feel moved and blessed by witnessing such a divine vision! Swamiji spoke about recognizing the presence of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in our lives as the creation, protection and dissolution that occurs all around us on a daily basis. He gave the example of the creative process that thinks " I want something to eat. " The action is taken to choose some food and eat it which gives us nourishment. Once our bodies our nourished, dissolution/transformation takes place in the fire of the digestive process. A simple example that helps us to be aware of this trinity energy that we experience every day in so many ways. The bhajan session in the evening was interspersed with relaxed and playful commentary by Appaji and enthusiastically appreciated by one and all. Vimala has posted a wonderful documentation of the day at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dattawords/sets/72157623652770687/ Enjoy! Sri Guru Datta.
