Namaste Pramod, the head mostly has a bigger and smoother hole than

the tail (big beads). In tiny beads (japa mala beads), the head is

also bigger. The tail part is where the grooves end and the hole is

mostly smaller although some Collector Size beads have wider holes at

the tail due to natural formation of the beads itself.
