Guest guest
Dear Sai Devotees, We continue with Sumathi Satakam............. ---------------------- 83. O Sumati! A father’s pride overflows not when his son is born; it is only when the son grows up to become a useful citizen of the society that the father’s pride reaches the peak. 84. O Sumati! Beware that some of your relatives would never be satisfied – even if you give them gold worth your weight 85. O Sumati! Keep an even attitude: During times that favor you, everything goes your way; During times unfavorable, nothing seems to go your way. 86. O Sumati! The village writer would be in trouble if the ruler knows how to write or the village head likes to make accusations on the writer. 87. O Sumati! If you are smart, you shall not pawn gold, you shall not run away from battlefield, and you shall not make friendship with crooks. 88. O Sumati! Beware of false ego thinking you are strong and none can cause harm, for a long snake gets killed by an army of winter ants. 89. O Sumati! A king without a competent minister is akin to a wild elephant with no trunk. 90. O Sumati! A kingdom with an able minister usually operates well, while a kingdom without a minister limps along like a cart with lose axles. 91. O Sumati! The ‘golden standard’…. for speech is speaking truth, for a king’s fort is a large army, and for a letter is the hand-writing. 92. O Sumati! A noble person resorting to the shelter of a crook is akin to an elephant trying to hide in a puddle of water; it can never succeed. -------------------- OM SAI RAM!
