Very Shortly all the brahmotsavam information & this information will be on the

 In the meanwhile here is the Information regarding Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Poojas

during Brahmotsavam.  The first part contains in explanations as to what it is

all about, so it speaks for itself.

Sarpa Dosha Santi Program

(26th, 27th & 28th May 2008)

To ameliorate the evil effects of violence towards creatures, reptiles

especially Serpents, (perpetrated by a person or his/her family members in this

birth or previous births), Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Puja is performed in Datta

Peetham annually. Those afflicted by chronic skin diseases, infertility,

frequent sickness are normally categorised by the elders as suffering from Sarpa

Dosha. Great Saints such as Sri Swamiji diagnose symptoms of Sarpa Dosha,

different from these visible signs and prescribe participation to devotees

occasionally. Devotees can decide for themselves, and choose the category of

participation as permitted by their convenience. They can also perform for their

relatives or friends in their absence.

This year, Sri Swamiji has decided that Naga Pratishtha ( Installation of a Naga

Devata Idol) would mark the Sarpa Dosha Shanti. Details of the programs are as

under.

 

26th May 2008 Monday Vaisakha Bahula Shashthi

4 PM Sankalpam for Sarpa Dosha Shanti poojas

Praayaschitta Japa, Panchagavya Praasana

Evening Puja at Naga Mandala

27th May 2008 TuesdayVaisakha Bahula Saptami

10 AM Naga Pratishtha Rituals & Kalasa Sthapana Commence

(at MarakataSubrahmanya Temple)

Bimba Suddhi, Pancha Gavya Adhivasanam (Ksheera/ Jala Adhivaasa)

12 Noon Naivedyam & Mangala Arati

4 PM Maha Snapana Abhishekam & Puja to Naaga Devata

5 PM Homa, Dhaanya, Sayya Adhivasa

6 PM Mangala Arati & Teertha Prasaada Viniyogam

 

28th May 2008 WednesdayVaisakha Bahula Ashtami

7 AM Sarpa Dosha Santi Homa, Poornahuti

10 AM Pratishtha of Naaga Devata, Puja

11AM Naga Devata Tarpanam, Ashta Naaga Devata Balidanam

Details of Participation in Sarpadosha Santi

1. Abhishekam Rs.600/- (28th 4 PM)

2. Sarpa Dosha Homa Rs.1,600/- (27th 4PM)

3. Naga Pratishtha Rs.6,000/-

(Includes all the rituals on 26th, 27th & 28th May 2008, but excludes Suvarna

Naga Daanam)

Note:

1.    Devotees who wish to participate in these programs shall remit the

prescribed amount by either cash or DD favoring Datta Gnana Bodha Sabha Trust,

payable at Mysore.

2.    To avoid last minute inconvenience, kindly make your bookings in advance.

3.    Separate Accommodation will not be provided to the participants. However

general accommodation will be available in Ashram. Sri Swamiji has permitted

devotees seeking separate accommodation to make their own arrangements.

4.    For Registration, kindly contact Puja Counter in Sri Datta Venkateswara

Temple or the Puja Counter in Datta Temple sdvtemple or 0821 2483200

5.    Naga Pratishtha Seva Kartas should obtain Identity Badge and receipt after

enrollment for easier identification. Participants are required to be present at

Sri Datta Venkateswara Temple,

6.    Head Bath is compulsory for all the participants. It is also desirable to

wear new washed clothes during rituals.

7.    One can have food from Annapoorna Mandiram in Ashrama without any

restrictions subject to the number of food intakes. It is recommended for all

the Seva Kartas to fast until the program is completed on the day of ritual.

However liquid diet is allowed.

8.    Naga Pratishtha Seva Kartasmay offer Vastram and Dakshina to Pujya Swamiji

at the time of receiving Prasadam from His Holiness. Swarna Naga Pratima Daanam

is optional.

9.    All the required instructions will be given at the start of the programs.

Hence no need for repeated enquiries with anyone.
