Guest guest
Namaskar Bikram, Mahalaxmi fasting can be done on Friday morning which is Devi's Day. Consume only milk, curd or fruit juice but before commencing on the vratta (fast), take a bath, clean the puja room and begin puja. Light an oil lamp, place a Shri Yantra or idol of Mahalaxmi in front of you on the altar. Look at it with devotion and touch your hands devotedly to your eyes. Then bow down your head to Goddess Laxmi and do the same. Place a plain red cloth on an Aasanam (seat or mat) in front of the altar. Spread a handful of rice on the red cloth. Then place a copper or brass kalash (pot shaped vessel) filled with water next to the spreaded rice. Place a small cup (Arghyam cup) with a silver or gold coin on the Kalash. You can also keep a rupee coin if you don't have a silver or gold coin. Now apply sandalwood paste and kumkum to the kalash and coin. Offer red flowers (preferably).
