Sage's advice

------------ -----

This is mine, that is yours, we say

We get stuck more and more, day by day

Where do they all go in earth as we lay?

To look at it from a far, it is all cosmic play

Neither you bring a thing, nor take one

Gathering all into a bag, no one can run

Carrying that heavy baggage, travel is not fun

Knowing the truth, possessions wise people shun

Keep life simple with just the things you need

Concentrate always on doing a good deed

From all the earthly bonds you should be freed

For that, advice of the wise, one must always heed

It may be hard, the sages' advice to follow

The ego and pride, with out fail, one must swallow

The path certainly is difficult to the ground hallow

Ocean of life - its waters are not shallow

Gold, silver, ornaments - fine to have in safe

With them alone, one can not have a good life

Patience and other virtues, when life is full of strife

Keeps one apart and above all, with wisdom ripe

No need for them to blow their own pipe

Nor do they care for advertisement and hype

Endowed with equal vision, they have no gripe

Never in wrath, from earth, any thing they wipe

With love and compassion for all, in their heart

Day in, day out, happy, their work they start

Fruits of deeds, they don't accumulate in cart

For them living becomes a glorified form of art

They lead their life with out a worry

They cross the ocean in a divine ferry

Hearts full of joy and being merry

From no one ever, single favor they curry

Always they put their trust in God

Not afraid even for a lightening rod

Thinking of the one in heavenly abode

Go forward with courage on rocky road

Being of special, noble breed

With reverence my words they heed

Never consumed by greed

They have their own creed

Entertaining no hatred

Life for them becomes sacred

Helping others in need

Until their soul is freed

Poor they try to feed

On earth plant good seed

Not having thoughts lewd

All the time in calm mood

Even when they are booed

Never to any one rude

Grateful lives they lead
