Guest guest
Guava Barfi (Sweetmeat) for Saibaba devoteesBY CHENNAIVISION Saturday, Jan 10 2009 IST Devotees at the world-renowned Saibaba temple in Maharashtra's Shirdi will henceforth be able to savour mouthwatering guava barfi along with the regular laddus.''The step has been taken keeping in mind the fondness that Saibaba had for guavas and the fact that the fruit grows abundantly in Shirdi and several surrounding districts,'' Shri Sai Sansthan Trust Chairman and Maharashtra MLA Jayant Sasane told UNI.The barfi would be made at the Sansthan and discussions were underway for assistance and guidance -- from Haldiram's and the Pune-based Chitle Bhandar -- regarding the machinery, cold storage etc. More than 500 persons would thereby find employment. The barfi is likely to be sold at Rs 7 to Rs 10 per kg.''The Sansthan's information centre will soon be set up at Connaught Place (officially Rajiv Chowk). Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her Maharashtra counterpart Ashok Chavan are being invited for the occasion. The centre will supply details regarding the shrine, places of residence for devotees, travel arrangements and publications,'' the visiting legislator added.-- (UNI) -- 10DR3.xml "It is not the arithmetic of our prayers, how many they are; nor the rhetoric of our prayers, how eloquent they may be; nor the geometry of our prayers, how long they be; nor the music of our prayers, how sweet our voice may be; nor the logic of our prayers, how argumentative they may be; nor the method of our prayers, how orderly they may be that counts."But a True Prayer is that which comes simply from the Heart."
