Puttaparthi is emptying pretty quickly. Since Swami left to Kodaikanal many devotees are leaving for Kodaikanal and most of the shops are closing down.

Egoism is a thorny bush, which when planted and fostered in one's heart, makes one pay the penalty. Egoism makes enemies of even dearest friends; it ruins many good causes and projects, for it does not allow two competent men to work together. Grief follows it like a shadow. Joy, peace, courage, co-operation and love flourish in the absence of the ego. When man is aware that the same Divine consciousness that motivates him is equally motivating all others, then love ousts the ego to the background and takes charge of man's actions, words and thoughts.

Egoismus ist ein dorniger Busch, der, wenn er im eigenen Herzen gepflanzt und aufgezogen wird, einen den Preis bezahlen läßt. Egoismus macht sogar aus den besten Freunden Feinde; er zerstört viele gute Beweggründe und Projekte, weil er zwei fähigen Menschen nicht erlaubt zusammenzuarbeiten. Kummer folgt ihm wie ein Schatten. Freude, Frieden, Mut, Zusammenarbeit und Liebe blühen in Abwesenheit des Ego. Wenn der Mensch sich bewußt ist, dass dasselbe Göttliche Bewußtsein, das ihn motiviert in gleicher Weise alle anderen motiviert, dann verdrängt Liebe das Ego in den Hintergrund und übernimmt die Verantwortung für die Handlungen des Menschen, seine Worte und Gedanken.

Egoisme adalah ibarat semak yang berduri, yang apabila ditanam serta dipelihara di dalam hati manusia, maka yang bersangkutan harus membayar konsekuensinya. Egoisme akan menjelmakan seorang sahabat baik menjadi musuh bebuyutan; ia akan mengacaukan banyak hal-hal yang telah dibina secara baik, sebab egoisme tidak bersedia untuk membiarkan dua orang yang berkompeten untuk saling bekerja-sama. Penderitaan akan mengikutinya laksana bayangan. Keceriaan, kedamaian, keberanian, sikap saling bekerja-sama dan cinta-kasih akan bermekaran di tengah-tengah kondisi ketidak-hadiran ego. Ketika manusia menyadari bahwa kesadaran Ilahi yang sama memotivasi baik dirinya maupun orang lain, maka pada saat itulah cinta-kasih akan mengambil alih kendali dan menghempaskan sang ego ke belakang dan selanjutnya tindakan, ucapan serta pikiran manusia akan dilandasi oleh cinta-kasih.

El egoísmo es un arbusto espinoso, que cuando es plantado y nutrido en el corazón de uno, te hace pagar un a pena. El egoísmo enemista incluso a los amigos que más se quieren; arruina muchas buenas causas y proyectos, porque no permite que dos hombres competentes trabajen juntos. El pesar lo sigue como una sombra. La alegría, la paz, el valor, la cooperación y el amor florecen en ausencia del ego. Cuando el hombre se da cuenta de que la misma conciencia Divina que lo motiva está motivando igualmente a los demás, enseguida el amor expulsa el ego al último término y, se hace cargo de los pensamientos, palabras y acciones del hombre.

E rovina molte buone cause e bei progetti perché non permette agli uomini esperti di lavorare assieme. Il dolore lo segue come un ombra. La gioia, la pace, i coraggio e la cooperazione e l’amore fioriscono in assenza di ego. Quando l’uomo è consapevole che la stessa Coscienza Divina che lo motiva, è anche il motore degli altri, allora l’amore estrometterà l’ego e prenderà in carico le azioni, i pensieri e le parole dell’uomo.
