Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters, Loving SAI RAMs. Before we proceed further with the postings on ATMA-related topics, it would be worthwhile to take a brief stock of what we have seen so far on this topic. This is considered necessary as a number of digressions or diversions have taken place in the course of making the postings in complying with the request of some members. We started the postings on this topic with the elaboration of ignorance of Atma and its consequences. We said that Atma is the substratum of the pluralistic world and that Atma is the True or Real nature of man and of the world. The manifested world is projected on Atma. It is the Self of every being. Atma alone exists . Nothing exists other than Atma as Atma is all-pervasive. Atma alone is real. It is only one and not Dual. To the ignorant men,Atma appears different and many. It is pure and uncontaminated. Atma is covered by layers of matter or Kosas. The real is thus veiled by the unreal. Atma can be realized only by those whose intellect is refined and pure. Self-realization can be achieved only by those learn to disassociate themselves with the actions, thoughts and emotions of their body, mind and intellect and their functions and try to attune themselves with the Atma. Atma is detached from all activities. It is a mere witness of all actions at physical, mental and intellectual levels without getting affected by them. Atma is the illuminating principle behind the organs of perception. On account of ignorance and lack of discrimination people superimpose the properties of the bodies on the Atma.
