Guest guest
Dear Sai Devotees, "Conversations with God" is a 3-volume series of books written by Neale Donald Walsch during the mid-1990s. As I started reading through the books, I realized that there is so much wisdom and simplicity of the message about God - it made sense to capture excerpts (edited for brevity) from the books and share with fellow Sai devotees in our . If you find at least one of these excerpts valuable to you, this effort is worthwhile. I offer this at the lotus feet of Samardha SathGuru Sainath Maharaj! May it be His glory!! --------------- During the time when the author's life was feeling like a failure from all aspects - personal, professional, and emotional - the author picked up a note pad and started scribbling his angry thoughts on paper. He was angry with everything, including God - he began to lose faith in himself and the world. He decided to write a letter to God. The scribbling of Neale Donald Walsch (NDW) thus began. NDW: Why isn't my life working? Why could I not find happiness in relationships? What have I done to deserve a life of such continuing struggle? Just as soon as NDW scribbled those words, something amazing happened: he felt that an answer was being inspired in his mind; a thought occurred. The hand started writing the answer on paper, and a conversation began. NDW felt as if an invisible hand was replying through the pen. This went on for years - every time he scribbled his questions, answers were being inspired and the hand wrote them down; sometimes so fast that he couldn't keep up with the writing. God: Do you really want me to answer these questions, or are you just venting? NDW: I am venting but I sure as hell want to know the answers! God: You are 'sure as Hell' about a lot of things - but wouldn't it be nice to be 'sure as Heaven'? NDW: Wait! How does God talk? And to whom? God: I talk to everyone all the time. The question is not to whom I talk to but who listens? NDW: That is interesting, please go on. God: First, let us replace the word 'talk' with a fuller word 'communicate'. When we try to talk we have limitation of words. For this reason, I do not communicate by words alone - in fact, I rarely do so. I use feeling, thought, and experience as the main tools to communicate. Use of words is my last choice. Feeling is the language of the soul. Feelings are sometimes difficult to discover, and often even more difficult to acknowledge. The trick is to get to those feelings. In communicating with thought, I use images and pictures - thoughts and feelings are not the same although they can occur at the same time. In addition, I also use experience as a grand communicator. Words are really the least effective communicator - open to misinterpretation and often misunderstood. Words are mere sounds that attempt to capture feelings, thoughts and experience. The irony is you all have placed so much importance on the Word of God (scriptures) and so little on experience. Not all feelings, not all thoughts and not all words are from Me. Many expressed their feelings, thoughts, and words in My name - but they are not Mine. So, how would you know which ones are from Me? Mine is your highest thought, grandest feeling and clearest word. The highest thought is that which contains joy. The grandest feeling is that which contains love. The clearest word is that which contains truth. Joy, love, truth - this is what I communicate. --- Om Sai Ram!
