Guest guest
You Look to me - I look to you Guru is one who teaches. There are several aspects of life for which Gurus are needed and from time to time we regard various persons as Gurus, because we learn from them. Sadguru is one, who takes complete charge of a devotee and steers him under all circumstances. His association with the devotee is of an eternal nature. This is mainly meant for releasing the shackles of maya so that the devotee obtains self realization. Persons with ego are unfortunately unable to achieve the first stage of realization in their life time. They consider it humiliating to ask for help. Devotees who surrender to the sadguru are instructed and blessed. " You look to me, I look to you " is a mantra, say mahamantra, for a devotee and is the simplest method. If a devotee takes one step towards Sadguru, he takes ten steps to meet the devotee. If a child endeavours to walk, his loving father will assist him, encourage him and feel happy when the child can walk without support. In the same manner the Sadguru assists and encourages the devotees step by step and the devotee thus crosses the ocean of Maya, or " Bhavsagar " Whenever a devotee thinks of Sadguru, there is a reciprocal response and good thoughts are promoted and favourable situations are created to accomplish noble deeds. These are innumerable instances of devotees, who are successful in a pilgrimage, feeding the poor, serving the sick and attending religious discourses. If the devotee looks for materialistic gains, the Sadguru sometimes grants them to instill confidence and encourage the devotee to look for better things of life. Looking to Sadguru means looking to him though all objects. `Jya Jya thinkani mana Jaye' Tya thikani nij roop tujhe. Mee thevito mastak Jya thikani. " Tujhe Sadguru pai donhee " This means that whatever place my thoughts pass through, I see your image and at whichever place I bow lay head, I find your holy feet there. Looking to Sadguru means looking for opportunities to duplicate the qualities of Sadguru, who produces an image of himself in a true devotee, through the mirror of " Bhakti " At the outset the condition of the mirror may such that the image is distorted. However, Satchidanand Swarup does not change. The same pure warer may look different when poured in different vessels and exposed to different light effects. Kabir said, " One, who is not prepared to lose his identity and merge his identity with the Sadguru, cannot achieve ultimate aim i.e. self realization. It is the responsibility of a devotee to keep the mirror shining condition so that the Sadguru's true image is reflected, so that eventually the devotee becomes and exact replica of the Sadguru. At that moment as Sadguru Sainath declared, " There is no difference between me and Upasani Maharaj "
