Democracy & Independence

These are the two words that are most misused in the world right now.

Human beings do not have a good understanding of what true

independence or democracy is all about.

 

In my opinion, true independence for a human is when he is not ruled

by his desires and when he takes complete control of his senses.

Bhavaroga (yielding to the desires) is the worst disease that the

human lives with throughout his life and the only cure or medicine for

that is the one that has caused it i.e. (control of)the mind. The man

should stand by his inner truth or conscience and not get carried away

by the needs of his body or mind or intellect. As a matter of fact, he

should inquire using his intellect to find the truth and live by its

command. If he does so, he has achieved his liberation and becomes one

with the God.

 

Similarly, democracy is when all our thoughts, words and deeds are

synchronized. We have to constantly use our intellect to eliminate bad

thoughts and select good thoughts, speak about it with love and

compassion, execute them with God's name in our mind and finally

submit the fruits of such action to God. When it happens, we have

achieved internal democracy and our sufferings and pain will come to

an end.
