Guest guest
(From the poems of the 15th Century Perfect Master and saint-poet "Kabir" – translated in English by 'Sam Kerawala' in the book, "Words of Kabir and other stories") GOD AND UNION 405. Dekhan Sareekhee baat hai, kahen sareekhee nahee. aisa adbhut samajh ke, samajh rahe mana maahee. It is something to be seen and experienced, cannot be put into words; so hidden is the secret of this divine union, it's best to keep one's mouth shut. 406. Bin dharatee kaa gaav hai, bin pantha ka desha. bin penda ka purusha hai, kahe kabir updesha. Non-existent the place, non-existent the paths leading to it; non-existent even the resident; only way I Kabir could express His presence, is where all else is not. 407. Main tha tab Hari naaheen, aab hari hai main nahee. sakala andhera meta gayaa, deepaka dekha maaheen. When I was, He was not, now He is and I am no longer there; darkness for ever disappeared. Now Kabir dwells in eternal light. 408. Karatama kartaa naa hataa, naa hataa haata na paat. ja bina Kabira raama jana, dekha aughaata ghaata. In the beginning I thought I was the doer but I was wrong in thinking so; neither hands nor feet, had I; the day I and my Beloved became One, I realised He and He alone was the Doer. 409. Guna Indree saheja gayi, sadguru bhaye sahaaya. ghata main brahma biraajaa, bakabaka mare balaaya. All my senses dead and I dead to myself. Thanks to the Grace of my Master; in an instant He (my Master) made me the inhabitant of Brahmand (Universe); why then waste time in mere words? 410. Haskara koi na paiyaa, jine paayaa so roya. hasane main jo Hari mile, to kaun dohaagana hoya ? This union is not to be had easily through fun and games; he who carried away the pearl went through oceans of suffering; if God were to be had that easily who would bother or strive for union. 411. Kabir hada kaa Guru hai, behada ka Guru Naaheen. behada aapaje, anubhava ke ghara maheen. Only till Kabir was bound by limitations was there need for a Master; once I entered the realm of limitlessness, thanks to the Grace of my Master, then the experience of the infinite in itself was its own proof .. -- ----- " Let Noble thoughts come to us from every side " .- RigVeda (1-89-i)
