Possessions without Obsessions!

" Just in as much thou have possessed anything, thou have been possessed & obsessed

" .

 

 

You tie one end of the rope around the neck of a mule and hold the other in your hand.

You believe the mule is your slave as the mule can't leave you.This is true but then the converse is also true as well!

You cannot leave the mule either. By enslaving the mule you have enslaved yourself.

 

 

So is the case with the world of possessions.

The moment you claim possessiveness, you are possessed by your own possessions.

Thus possession directly leads to obsession.

 

 

 

 

Unnecessary possessions are unnecessary burdens.If you have them, you have to take care of them! There is great freedom in simplicity of living. It is those who have enough but not too much who are the happiest.

 

 

 

 

Also, as a matter of fact everything belongs to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and no one else possesses anything.

Factually all our possessions are false, as they are temporary.

 

So what's the way to be possessed and still not obsessed?

Simply by offering our possessions in the service of Supreme Personality of Godhead, we would be free from the slavery of material objects.

And then, we won't be having obsessions despite having many possessions!
