Yesterday evening too there were cultural programs by the devotees from medak district who were here in Puttaparthi for the past few days. After the event Swami presented two small children with gold chains. The events ended with aarathi, all the devotees who were here for the event left puttaparthi yesterday evening and very happily I might add. After three days of programs and darshans, bhajans etc. Today the weather in Puttaparthi is over shawdowed it looks like it might rain any minute.

Thought for the Day

Diamond and gold are only materials; man has made them precious by attaching value to them. In fact, man is really the most valuable being on earth. That is why it is said, "Janthunaam Narajanma Durlabham". It has been secured as a reward for many lives of meritorious activity. It is valued as a boat which can help us cross the ocean of 'Samsara' or mundane existence. In spite of this, man desecrates himself by running after trivial pleasures.

Diamanten und Gold sind nur Materialien; der Mensch hat sie wertvoll gemacht, indem er ihnen Wert verliehen hat. Tatsächlich ist der Mensch wirklich das wertvollste Wesen auf der Erde. Aus diesem Grund heißt es: "Janthunaam Narajanma Durlabham". Es ist ihm zugesichert worden als eine Anerkennung für viele Leben verdienstvoller Aktivität. Es wird gewertet als ein Boot, das uns helfen kann, den Ozean von 'Samsara' oder der weltlichen Existenz zu überqueren. Trotzdem entweiht sich der Mensch, indem er bedeutungslosem Vergnügen hinterherläuft.

Permata dan emas hanyalah merupakan benda-benda materi saja; ia menjadi berharga setelah manusia memberinya nilai. Sebenarnya justru manusialah yang merupakan mahluk yang paling berharga di dunia ini. Itulah sebabnya terdapat ungkapan, "Janthunaam Narajanma Durlabham". (Kelahiran sebagai manusia) merupakan hadiah (berharga yang diperoleh) dari berbagai perbuatan bajik yang telah dilakukan selama beberapa (siklus) kehidupan (yang lampau). Ia sama berharganya seperti sebuah rakit/perahu yang dapat membantu kita dalam menyeberangi samudera 'Samsara' (siklus kelahiran dan kematian). Namun walaupun begitu, ternyata manusia justru telah menodai dirinya sendiri melalui tindakannya (yang bodoh) dalam mengejar kenikmatan duniawi (yang serba temporer).

El diamante y el oro son tan sólo materiales; el hombre los ha hecho preciosos al atribuirles valor. De hecho, el hombre es realmente el ser más valioso en la tierra. Por eso se dice, "Janthunaam Narajanma Durlabham" *(entre todos los animales que nacen, el nacimiento humano es algo muy difícil y sagrado). Este ha sido conseguido en recompensa por muchas vidas de actividad meritoria. Se le valora como a un barco que puede ayudarnos a cruzar el océano de 'Samsara' o existencia mundana. Per questo motivo si dice : "Janthunaam Narajanma Durlabham" . Il corpo umano è stato assicurato come premio per le attività meritorie di molte vite anteriori. E' considerato come una barca che può aiutarci ad attraversare l'oceano di 'Samsara' o esistenza mondana. Nonostante questo l'uomo dissacra sé stesso correndo dietro ai piaceri più triviali.
