April 14, 2007 PARTHY Yesterday, at Parthy, our beloved Bhagwan declared that he would construct the canal from Andhra Border{zero point}} to Poondi reservoir{Pumping point} in Tamilnadu. Cost estimated for this project is Rs.50 crore. This is a continuation of the canal project, Sai Ganga. This is a gift for Chennai citizens. APRIL 13, 2007 RIYADH Maha Ganapathi Homam was performed at Riyadh Sai center on Friday, April 13, 2007. The Homam was started at 6:10AM after chanting Sai Subrapatham and finished at 8:25AM. Brother (Veda) Narayanan and six prohits performed the Homam. It was attended by 70 devotees including 20 from Dammam /Khobar. After the Homam, seven special songs on Sri Maha Ganapati were sung by the devotees. After a break for a couple of minutes, regular bhajan was held. Significance of the Homam: Ganapati Homam is meant to remove obstacles in life and for general Prosperity. Major steps: • Vigneswara pooja to remove obstacles in conducting the homam. • Maha sanakaplam to pray for the well being of all families. • Varuna pooja to Lord Varuna and river gods to sanctify the place of homam. • Invocation of Sri Maha Ganapati in a decorated kalasam and Agni. Ashta dravyam (moodakam, rice flakes, brown sugar, sugar cane, coconut, white seasame....) , doorvam, samit, dry ftuits, appam, ghee were used as offerings to Sri Maha Ganapati with vedic chants of 108 times of Sri Maha Ganapati Moola Mantra, Upanishad, Gana Patam and 21 times of Maha Gayatri Mantra. • Poornahuti (Complete surrender of oneself to Sri Maha Ganapati) To write about the decorations, my capacity is limited.
