Sairam Bala - Your postings on the concept of Atma is always a pleasure to read and contemplate upon. I always look forward in my inbox to read this. In fact I have created a special folder only for your e-mails. I have retained all of your e-mails and read them on and off. I would suggest you continue your postings because it directly relates to what Swami also speaks about in his discourses. As regards people who feel that they would like to read about social topics and current issues, I recommend that they can always read newspapers or any news matter available on the internet. Thanks. Sairam,

Mr Balasubramanian's mails on Atma is too good. In fact we (group of around 15 people)

sit, specially, for this mail everyday evening after our hectic wok. The messages not

only take us to a new world and also remind us about our non-existence and the

Real existence of Atma. I would strongly request Mr GB to continue his mails on

Atma.

SAI RAM Acharyaji,

Thanks for your mail. Most of the members do not even open most of the mails posted in the forum. Perhaps, they simply delete the mails even before reading. This is evident from the fact that hardly a few members have responded to my mail on this and on the earlier occasions when I asked for views of members. Not all are interested in topics such as Atma. When Swamy talks on the same topic people will listen patiently, irrespective of whether they understand his discourse or not. I have not stated something new. It is all " old wine in a new bottle " . I am going only by what the scriptures say on this topic. Nothing is Original. No credit due to me. I thought I might be doing a Seva by sharing with the members what all I have assimilated. That is all. Once again thanking you for your encouraging comments.

Sai Ram Uncle,

You are guided by Swami to write on the Topic. If some of the readers find it difficult to understand it is best to save and read them again and again, providing that they want to understand the whole concept or simply to use the delete button.

Please do not allow other's comments to hinder in your work. Looking forward to seeing your writings more.

With warm regards

Dear Brother Balasubramanian

Thanks for all the information. I am sure you really mean well, however I for one cannot find the time to read.

It is a bit too much to absorb. It needs to relate to current needs affecting people.

I think that simplicity should be the key to help people understand.

Sai Ram Melvin,

Thanks for having taken a few minutes off for giving me your views in the matter. I value them.

The postings on Atma were commenced on the specfic request of a few members. What is being stated in the postings are more or less english translations of our scriptures as understood by this humble self after listening to thousands of philosophical discourses, satsangs, attending study circles and several question and answer sessions etc. etc. over 50 odd years. Atma is the principle of God, the Divinity present in each one of us. The " current needs affecting people " have their origin in the ignorance of spirituality. Atma is the Spirit. Language is just a means of communication. While simplicity of language is helpful in an intellectual understanding of material and mundane topics, understanding Atma as stated in Upanishads calls for the right mental attitude and adequate seeker approach. The choice of reading any posting in the group or deleting it without reading is entirely the privilege of the member. There can be no compulsion in this regard.

Incidentally, the webmaster of the has informed this humble self that it is proposed to post the submissions made by this humble self on the website itself. Further postings on this subject are being made owing to encouraging responses.

With humble Sai Rams,

G.Balasubramanian

Sai Ram. I tend to agree with Sis Gayathri's observation. Just because a few are unable to grasp the immensity of your writings, it is not correct to deprive many others who follow your thoughts diligently. It's said that whe Albert Einstein propounded his famous "Theory of Relativity", not more than a dozen people across the world could understand it. That did not make his theory any less profound or less authentic. To talk about making it read simple, it definitely is a huge task by itself and none other than the Supreme Master can do it. Atma vidya is definitely the simplest for the one established in it and it is the most complex to the uninitiated. Swami has once said "I am simple. Everything else is complex." Keep up the good work! Sai ram Narayanan Gaya3soori wrote: Sai Ram Uncle, You are guided by Swami to write on the Topic.
