Guest guest
Sairam, I cannot quote any references. But what I believe from the depth of my heart I can share and request your opinion. NO one can predict the moment of death but can gracefully move towards death. Assisting another at the time of death is also predictable only on a very few occasions like prolonged illness or so - when the physical vehicle has become uncertain of continued existence. In both the occasions whether it is the subject or the person desiring to help, name smaran is prescribed in all the religious codes. Especially for sai devotees, chanting the name of sai and keeping the mind full of sai is ideal. But, it is very difficult to predict the time of death for anyone and hence CONTINUOUS NAMA SMARAN IS spoken of. Sai Bhagawan had some time ago spoken of Constant Integrated Awareness - always remembering the Divine and making every action a samarpan to the Divine - while rolling the name of the Divine in the heart - whether it is physical toil or mental work or waiting for sleep to come. That way, when Death is imminent, by practice, the name of the Divine as also the Form of the Divine, whatever may be the religion we belong to, is continuously reviewed in the mind. When the mind is so fully engaged, there is no chance for any fear or memory of past errors to lead the so called soul or atma to a wrong area. When constant awareness is on the Divine, the outcome is certain and the person is a blessed one. Please correct me, I have only expressed my faith. Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters of Sai Family, Sai Rai to all. When I read the message on 'deathing' yesterday, I wanted to express my opinion but since I had no time, I thought I would express it today. To my surprise, Jag has expressed almost word for word, whatever I wanted to express. Our Beloved Baba has said that we should practise repeating namasmaran of the Lord at all the time since we do not know when the final moment is. So if we do not practice namasmaran, we may not be able to utter them at the crucial time. Other thoughts about worldly matters will come to our mind. We may utter the name of our children, wife or any other persons. As such practice is essential. Also, if we surrender ourselves to our Beloved Bhagawan without any reservation, Baba has said that He will guide us, take care of us and arrange for our farewell too. Guest guest
Sairam,Believe it or not...there is immense potential in nama smarana..... one can even get the power to not only know things of future, but even exactly know when our end approaches but this simple sadhana itself.....saiimpex10 <saiimpex10 wrote: Dear Brothers and Sisters of Sai Family, Sai Rai to all. Guest guest
Sairam, May I please present some more angles - A) Bhagawan addresses us as Premaswarupulara, Divyatmaswarupulara etc. Bhagwan addresses to our atma and not the physical body B) Once Vivekananda enquired of Bhagawan Ramakrishna Paramahamsa - when will the complete knowledge dawn upon me as to who I am - it is quoted that Paramahamsa laughed and said " when you realise who you are completely, you will go away to the place from where you had come, without finishing your work and my work " . C) The physical body is only annamaya kosha and subtler than that are pranamaya, manomaya, vigyanamaya kosha (bodies) and finally it is anandamaya kosa. Drawing an inference from the above, the logical conclusion could be that physical life is not final. There remains much more. Only the average person is afraid of the transition. JK used to remark " fear of the unknown " . Complete knowledge dawns only when the individual atma is ready after full evolution and not before. That is the way of Maya and srusti rahasya cannot be understood by all except Bhagawan. Some time back one of our brothers/sisters had sent three images showing the proportion of earth to Sun; Sun to Antares etc. Once again if we view that, we will understand how small we really are - physically; but the Divine has, in the process of creation, sent our Atman - a complete personification of the Divine itself - Only thing is it is housed ina physical body. The way is back to Bhagawan / Parabrahman and our Royal Route is constant remembrance of the Divine. It is neither Age nor Education or Worldly achievements that gives this knowledge. Only the endless and eternal grace of the Bhagawan guides us towards constant awarenesss of the divine. Finally, for the time being, let us remember that Bhagawan had said that the Nama and Rupa are one and the same; Nama is equally powerful as the Rupa and namasmaran can be done - 24 hours during the day - whatever activity we may be engaged in - that is AKHANDA BHAJAN All are welcome for a satsangh/study circle (for a real exchange of ideas) Jai Guru Datta, Jai Sai Ram Jag (044 - 42033532)(9840943132) Quoting : > Dear Brothers and Sisters of Sai Family, > > Sai Rai to all. Guest guest
Sai Ram, I remember reading some words in one of the Dr.Hislop's books on this. Though we think a lot that we can chant God's name while we are going through the death phase (earlier atleast I used to think that way ), Dr.Hislop quotes Swami's words "that our past takes over when we are in death bed-all the past deeds n karmas define whether we can atleast think about God or not at that period!!! So, Swami advised to start namasmarana from age 6 or 7 to overcome this problem n to let ourselves turn to God when we are going through the death phase. If we do namasmarana, its like saving in a bank to get the fruit with additional interest, that is the grace of God, at the death time to finally get redeemed of these repeated cycles of birth n death More on this can be seen in Dr.Hislop's "Seeking Divinity" book. Thank You,Pranams to the lotus feet, Sailaja Dear Brothers and Sisters of Sai Family,Sai Rai to all.
