Guest guest
SAI RAM DEAR Brotheres and Sisters, (continued from posting no. 3) The Atman is eternal(Nityah),all-pervading (Sarvangathah) and existence-knowledge-bliss(Satchidananda). Atman has neither beginning nor an end. It is beyond time(Kalaatheetha). Time is a concept of the intellect. It is Atman that illumines this very concept of the intellect. Vedas hold that nothing exists other than the Atman and the Atman itself manifests as the pluralistic world. The Atman exists everywhere including the projected world of things and beings just as the metal gold exists in different ornaments made out of it. Atman is the subsratum of the pluralistic world of things and beings which is projected upon it. The apparent phenomenal world, in its essence, is nothing but Atman which alone exists. While the pluralistic world is experienceable by the body, mind and intellect, Atman can not be experienced or perceived by the human equipment. Brahman (Atman) functioning through the gross and subtle bodies manifests itself as 'existence' and 'intelligence' respectively. Existence refers to inert objects of the world and intelligence to all living beings. These manifestations of Atman are experienceable in the waking and dream state of consciouness. Just as a goldsmith sees only gold in different ornaments made out the meatal, self-realized person is ever attuned to the Brahman(Atman) even while he experiences the things and beings of this manifested world. The Brahadaranyaka Upanishad says, " This great being( Atman) is endless(Anantam) and without any limit (Apaaram). It is a mass of Consciouness only(Vigyaanaghanaeva). " The Isavasya Upanishad declares that whatever is changeful here in this ephemeral world is pervaded by Brahman(Atman). The Santhipatam of the Upanishads belonging to the Suklaa Yajur Veda declares that the invisible Brahman(Atman) is the Full. The visible world too is full. From the Brahman, the visible universe has come. The full Brahman remains the same even after the Full ie., the visible universe has come out of the Full Brahman.
