But, individuals were never encouraged to go on fast for specific issues by Bhagawan Shirdi Sai Baba. For example on Shiavaratrhi it is a vrath, everybody fasts all over India. There will be all night awakening - "jagarana" and people perform bhajans. Guest guest Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 OM SAIRAM I do agree with the views of RADHIKA Ji, our holy father SHIRDI SAI BABA never wanted any of his children to fast and do any VRAT, BABA just wanted us follow on the PATH of SHRADDHA & SABURI and constantly have him in our thoughts and feel/agree that everything is done as per his wish. NO VRATs / NO FASTS / NO MANTRAS are required to get closer to BABA, SAI SATCHARITA PARAYAN, NAMASAMARAN, being nice to fellow beings and even animals, is what was preached by BABA during his days. SATSANG can also be heard or organised. Every one of us should possess SAI SATCHARITRA in our own choice of language and keep reading and understanding the same. this is just my personal sharing.
