Guest guest
Saint Thyagaraja was induced by one of his relative to seek the King's favour to alluviate his poverty. Thyagaraja shunned this offer and said, 'I will sing the praise of Rama', I am content with the present position' For the sake of few pennies i will not extole the Royal, to fill up my belly. His relative ridiculed Thyagaraja for his adamant attitude. Thyagaraja knew the real value of "Ramanama" and he has repeated the Taraka nama from his 21st year and he was repeating "Ramanama" 96 crores times! He was able to get the Dharsana of Rama due to his severe austerities. Nowadays it is our own experience that the property, position and power are very much short lived and nothing last for ever. Moreover we get discontent by indulging on sensory fulfillment. It is like a mirage. Once we understand the impermanancy of the things of the world, we will get disgusted with our own ways. It is time that we should retrace our steps towards spiritual treasures than this mundane wealth! Sairam, Saisaran.
