Guest guest
Our senses are powerful but of deceiving nature. They make us to believe the illusory world as real and the relationships as eternal. Though we often become sad due to our indulgance in the sense objects, we never try to disengage ourselves from their hold. Body consciousness is the main reason for our wrong attachments. We always seek the objects of senses. Out of all the senses, the sense of taste can degrade a human into beast. "Jihva sapalyam" is a term used to indicate 'conquest of taste(tongue) A real ascetic is one who transcends taste and lust. The sense of taste and sense of sight causes downfall among the devotees though they practice spiritual sadhanas for a long time. Hence first we must ensure cleanliness of our conscious. A pure mind can take us to sublime hight. Swami is never tired of emphasising this point in most of his discourses. He has said that "Real sacrifice is 'removal of bad tendencies that occupy our mind and conscious. Hence, to gain real progress first cleanse the mind of all impurities by constant namajapa with love and faith. Sairam, Saisaran.
