In my observation, children excel in theory but do not practice what they learn. Swami says that we are true human beings only if we practice human values and live up to His teachings. In this regard i would request you to introduce an element of practice session in BV classes. Firstly write down the major five human values in separate piece of paper ie truth, love, peace, right conduct and non-violence. Let a child pick one and then let all the children continue to practice that value atleast from the beginning of the class till the conclusion of the class. slowly you tell the children to continue to practice at home and also at school.In the next class pick the other value and so on.We should not focus on too many books and slokas and bhajans instead teach the children to practice values.Ofcourse a teacher must be a good example. The teacher should also vow to practice the chosen value.This may not be innovative but this is what Swami wants from children. Good values must be nurtured at a tender age so as to have a lasting effect. Swami stresses on Educare which means to elicit that is to transform education into action.
