Guest guest
Ego is very subtle and it enters unnoticed. It seeks every thing for its own satisfaction. At the same time, the ego distances itself from higher truths and god. Ego sits tightly on body consciousness. In fact the ego is a phantom and it is not real. It is an assumed identity and hence it is illusion of Maya. Swamy says, Maya is like a ferocious dog that guards the mansion of God. It wont let anybody in. One who resembles the Lord absolutely will be let in. This is known as "Sarupya". Even if there is a minute difference, the dog wont let you in. There is one more method to enter the mansion of God. "Call the name standing outside the mansion. The Lord will Himself come and take you in. Now Maya, the dog wont hurt you since the Lord himself lovingly takes you in. But our call should be full of love and faith. Then only the Lord will come out to save the devotee. Once Lord Narayana was resting in Vaikunta. Suddenly, the Lord arose from his seat and moved few steps forward and he retraced his steps soon. Lakshmi was perplexed at the sudden behaviour of her Lord. She questioned him, what happened? Why you have moved forward and again retraced your steps. The Lord explained Lakshmi, that a poor man was beaten by some thugs and he was crying in pain as "Narayana, Narayana". Hence I immediately rushed to his rescue. Now I found that he is beating the thugs back. Hence my help is no more required and hence i retraced my steps. These stories told by Swami carries jems of wisdom. Let us know the teachings behind these small stories and adopt our life accordingly. Sairam.
