Guest guest
AUM SAI RAM There is no need for us to study religion or philosophy to experience Bhagawan Baba; our faith suffices; when we believe in ourselves, we believe in God as we are not different from Him as Baba has often said in the past and has laconically repeated in His Divine Discourse at the closure of the World Youth Conference in July 2007. "Think of Me! I will manifest!" Hence, two weeks ago, on a Thursday morning whilst my gardener was picking dry leaves from under the trees which arbour our Mahaveer Swami Baba stapan (a small altar stone which Hindus usually install in their front yard for the worship of the Lord Hanuman), he noticed broken twigs amongst the leaves in the grass. Then he heard a strange noise of leaves shuffling above his head. He looked up. Lo! A monkey was gazing at him from the top of one of the trees. It was a most unexpected and unusual sight as we live in a strictly residential area. He enquired from our neighbours; no one was the owner of the monkey. Later, in the afternoon, marvelled by the gardener's story, I kept watch from an upstairs window. There he was - a handsome, silver grey, young adult monkey as cute as a plush toy- playfully jumping from branch to branch; my six dogs were quietly sitting under the trees in silent wonder, their muzzle pointed towards the sky. Recalling the legend of the Ramayana, I wondered whether my sweet Sai Ram had sent a little something for me by his messenger, the monkey - a ring with his initials or some other id. No! Nothing! Until, on Sunday 25th in the afternoon after the last bhajan of our twelve hours non –stop 'akhand bhajan' devotional singing at the centre and just before Aarti, a lady burst in the bhajan hall, carrying an orange robe and declared that she had arrived from Puttaparthi and Bhagawan Baba had sent on e of His Robes for the Sai Centre of Curepipe. She added that Sri Sai Ram had told her to come to our centre on Sunday as we were doing akhand bhajans. As incredible as these incidents may sound, another wish had come true; the Sai Centre of Curepipe now has a robe of Sai Ram to cherish and to keep as a religious artefact, an id of His Omnipresence.
