Guest guest
We go to Prasanthi Nilayam and stay there for few days. During our stay there, we follow the routine by attending the "Omkar, Nagarasankeertan, Morning and Evening Dharsans and Bhajans and maintain the discipline perfectly by observing the silence etc. When we leave the precincts of the Nilayam, we revert to our old pattern of living. Yes, it is human trait. The stay in the Nilayam is really good for any individual. Absorbing the Divine aura is conducive to our spiritual development. But we are put to more tests when we return to the family environment. We wanted to maintain the calm but things force you to get angry. External pressures to maintain good behaviour, when once released, we become the old ego self and behave erratically. It definitely requires a lot more to inculcate human values in our life and follow them. What we learn in the Prasanthi campus is a kind of begining but it requires rigorous training to bring the mind under control. We must get detached from the body consciousness and stop following the monkey mind. Easier said than done. It may take many years with assiduous practice to tame the rebellious mind. Namasmarana is the first step. Attending Bhajans, Nagarasankeertans are the second step. Participating in small service activities alongwith the members of Samithi is the third step. To get rid of anger, lust and taste is the next step. Conquering hunger and sleep is the next step. Once we start following the values held high in Sai Educare, we will march little by little towards goal.Sairam.
