Guest guest
When the mind is agitated, we can not decide on anything. Serinity of the mind is a greatest gift. If we fix our attention on Atma or Self, the mind can not harm us. For achieving this end, we have to practice aloofness from the externals. Nama Japa is one aid which will keep the mind focussed on one aim. It purifies our inner realm. When we chant the name, if the mind is diverted, fix it on the form. If it is again diverted, fix it on the name. Do not leave the source of Name and Form. Constant and continuous namajapa will become a conduit to the grace of god. Initially, the mind will not co-operate. But ignore the mind and repeat the name remembering the potency, the name possess. It has converted the thief Ratnakara into a great Maharishi Valmiki. What qualification did he possess. He had the faith in the words of the Rishis who directed him to repeat 'mara mara'. The constant repetition enabled him to chant rama rama in due course. He forgot his body and mind. Ant hill developed over his body and hence he was called, "Valmiki".Sairam.
