Shirdi Baba used to assert always that Ram and Rahim are One. He used to visit the mosque and say Shiva is Allah. The people who gather there to worship used to get offended by his immature utterances. He will go to the temple and sing the praise of Allah. Hence both Hindus and Muslims got equally offended by the behaviour of the boy who was taken care of the Muslim woman. She brought him up with love and care but his behaviour brought her more head aches. Hence to correct him, she brought him to the presence of "Venkusa" who was considered as a Guru in the places nearby. Shri Venkusa accepted the boy under his benign care. The next 6 or 7 years was really a boon to humanity. Due to the jealousy of his collegues, Baba could not continue there and he was forced to get away from that place. His Guru told him to travel in the western direction. Chance meeting with Chand bai Patel, brought him to Shirdi. Mahlsapathy, the pujari at Kandoba temple greeted him as "Ya Sai". That name struck him. After staying in Shirdi for sometime he again vanished but came back after some time. He stayed there until His Mahasamadhi on 15 Oct 1918. Many devotees had the good fortune of staying with Baba in the mosque like Tatya Kote Patil and Mahlsapathi. Baba loved all his devotees equally and saved them from troubles and disasters. Sai Sath Charitha written by Govinda Raghunath Dabolkar is an eye opener and it narrates lucidly the leelas of Sai. It is read daily by many for spiritual and temporal benefits. Sairam.
