Guest guest
i am so and so(body). After the birth of a child, the parents conduct a naming cermony. It has a purpose. It is for identification of a particular body. Whenever we talk as 'i', we mean the first person. This 'i' is nothing but our false identity with the perishable stuff called body. It is material sheath, the Annamaya kosa. Then there is the mind sheath which is Manomaya kosa. In between, there is the sheath of 'vital airs' which performs all the functions of body like breathing etc. This is Pranamaya kosa. there are two more sheaths viz., vignana maya kosa and Anandamaya kosa. These invisible sheaths are beyond body, vital airs and mind. Hence they can not be dwealt with the feculties of speech, mind and intellect. They belong to the spiritual or atmic realm. Though it may seem, that we have control over the body, it is not really so. The false 'i' ego has no jurisdiction. It is false. It is illusion. It is a phantom. When you start realising as a phantom, your journey towards wisdom begins. We need a guide in any pursuit. In spirituality, it is all the more essential since we are treading through unknown territory. We are not aware, that the Guru is always with us invisibly. He is there as "Consciousness". Provided we remain attentive, we can get this constant guidance from inside. Nowadays, it is difficult to select a preceptor on our own. There are pseudo gurus. Hence, the safest way is to listen to our consciousness by remaining absolutely silent. You have to hear the 'wishper', the silent wishper of Swami in your inner consciousness. Those who are fortunate to get a worthy preceptor may very well follow the directions of their preceptor. The first and foremost requirement in spirituality is "Be sincere in your sadhana and pursue it with single minded aim. Sairam.
Guest guest
Sairam. Your advice for selection of one's Guru is very apt and correct. Some 15 years ago I had the same problem in identifying my guru-my preceptor. Then I heard a Bagavatham cassette by Sri Krishna Premi Swamiji, where in he says how to find one's Guru. On seeing that spiritual person, your heart should synchronise with him- in Tamil he says" Yaaridam un manasu layikkinradho avare un guru".When I saw our Swamy in Kodaikanal for the first time in my life,I became speechless, throat got gagged and tears started flowing and wept in public for reasons totally unknown to me. I realised that He is my Guru for this life time and ever. For all those who sincerely yearn for Guru, He will come to you or you will be guided to HimSairam LIBRA--- On Sun, 22/6/08, sairam232003 <sairam232003 wrote:sairam232003 <sairam232003 Rely upon your inner consciousness to get guidance.
