Guest guest
Whom the body obeys? Whom the mind obeys? Unfortunately, the mind controls the body and the mind is enslaved by the senses. But the Real Master is "Atma". Why the Atma is not listened to? Yes, this is a pertinant question. As long as there is 'body consciousness or attachment to the body, the mind plays a pivotal role. The mind can not survive a second without depending upon something. It has no independent identity as such. It always depends upon the body for its survival and this situation creates the 'ego', the monster. The ego seeks everything for its own. It seeks pleasures through the senses and the sense organs. We always desire to see beautiful sites. We desire to hear our favourite music. We want to eat delicious dishes. We need perfumes to smell. We need silken, soft bed to rest. Hence, all the senses induces the mind to indulge in sensual pursuits. A detached person do not find any charm in these worldly pursuits. His entire attention rests on the contemplation of the Lord, which only gives him joy and serenity. If perchance, he is put into worldly environment or worldly luxuries, he diverts his mind to the contemplation of Divine and try to get away from such situations. When a coin was kept surreptiously beneath the bed of Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, he could not sit on the cot. As though, he touched fire, he jumped out at once. Such was his supreme detachment to worldly wealth. Many such High Souls treaded the length and bredth of our country. We must gather such esoteric knowledge from such gnanis and devotees and follow the golden path towards the Divine. Sairam.
