Guest guest
God is a powerful magnet. It attracts only those, who are untainted. For instance, a magnet will attract iron fillings. But if they are rusted, the magnet will not be able to attract the fillings. It is not the fault of the magnet but it is the fault of iron fillings. Hence, it is said, that those who are untainted are easily attracted. Others feel the attraction in various degrees. Secondly charcoal pieces do not burn or emit heat on their own accord. They need to have the company of live cinders. In the villages we have such ovens where only charcoal is fed. Underneeth the gratings we feed a small cloth soaked in kerosene and it is lit with a match. By the flames below the gratings of the oven, the charcoal in the upper portion slowly catches fire and with vigourous fanning they become live cinders. Hence we should move in the company of sadhaks and sanyasis by whose contact and teachings we too start catching the fire of wisdom and if we are intent to cultivate the same, we should be anxious to cultivate the wisdom and practice it in real life. Then the fire of gnana will be burning inside us. By meditation on the truth and by loving service to the poor and destitutes, we can become pure and realise our real "Self" or Atma. Swami always wants us to have this sort of sath sangam. Sath need not necessarily be a group of sadhaks. The "Sath" is inside everyone. We should remain alone in silence in a secluded place for meditating on our inner core which is the "Self of All". Sairam.
