In the begining, none recorded the sweet pranks of Swami until his fourteenth year. Only later, many old devotees and some of his teachers and friends started recording them and we are really indebted to them for this great service. During the time of Shirdi Baba, none attempted to cronicle the events except a few fortunate souls like Khaparde and others during his life time. We have hardly four or five real photographs of Shirdi Sai. Later Shri B.V.Narasimhaswamy of Salem started developing great faith and love to Shirdi Baba and he wanted that people of south India should benefit from Shirdi Baba's grace. Hence he travelled widely, interviewed many old devotees of Shirdi Sai, recorded the episodes painstakingly and written many beautiful books on Sai Baba. He also started "Sai sudha, a monthly magazine on Sai leelas and Sai teachings which contain "devotees experiences. Likewise Sai leela magazine was started on the same lines by devotees of Shirdi Sai. No doubt, Hemadpant has collected and chronicled the leelas of Sai in Sai Sat charitam and it was translated into many languages by the efforts of devotees and Sai sansthan. Shri Khaparde has written a dairy and was published later. Now there is abundance of Sai literature about Shirdi Sai. Shri Kasthuri has undertaken the monumental task of writing many volumes of "Sathyam Sivam Sundaram, the biography on Swamy and His immortal teachings, His visits to various places, miracles witnessed by the author etc. We are all indebted to Shri Kasthuri and other western authors like Howard Murphet, John Hislop, Charles Penn and Dr.Samuel Sandwiss who have penned first hand experiences with Swami. Now there are hundreds of Indian and foreign writers who are devoted to Swami and they are propogating Swami's Love to the world. May Swami bless all of them. Sairam.
