"Mano moolam idam jagath". The world is based on the mind. If the mind is absent, we wont cognize the world. The mind rises from the Self and the world is seen. Shri Ramana Maharishi says, that the world is an illusion or imagination. The ego principle arises from the Self and the world is cognized through the mind. Mind is inseparable from ego or body consciousness. Advaita tatwa or monism is the only reality. The rest are like the snake seen on the rope. The snake is an imagination whereas there was only a rope. The fear of the snake ceases, the moment light is focussed on the place where the rope lies. Likewise, the Guru or Preceptor illumine our intellect with his teachings. When Knowledge dawns, ignorance automatically vanishes. There may be a dark cave which was not inhabited by any for thousands of years. A wayfarer out of curiosity want to see what is inside. He strike a match and with the feeble light, he could peep into the inside a little. What happened to the thousands of years of darkness. A small light from a match stick could illumine a little. Likewise, the teachings of the Guru will illumine us. Sairam.
