Guest guest
Swami used to say, that an envelope may be of best quality with artistic designs on it. It may have flowers of different colours printed on it. The address might have been written in a best possible style. In spite of all these, if the cover do not bear the 'postal stamp', it can never reach its destination. In the other case the cover of ordinary material and containing an address written in not so neat manner, but it is affixed with the requisite stamp and in this case, the letter will reach the destination. In a like manner, the Pujas and rituals performed elaborately with costly offerings of flowers and fruits, "if it lacks devotion", it is absolutely waste and it won't reach god. In this context, we may remember that Lord Krishna had accepted the humble hospitality and food offered by "Vidhura" whereas he declined the pompous invitation of Duryodhana for a lunch or dinner in his palace since it lacked genuine love whereas "Vidhura" had the "Prema bakthi" that is essential for devotion.
