Guest guest
Many of us are aware how a cinema is projected on the screen. If you go to the projector room, there will be film reels waiting for projection one after the other. If you view those film roles, you will find only still photos in each and every film. When they are mounted on the projector by the spool and allowed to pass through the light at a slow but constant speed, we watch the actors moving and acting, speaking and singing with appropriate back grounds musics etc. How this happen. It is based on the principle of our vision. Our eyes are capable of keeping the image for a fraction of a second. Based on the same principle, the film is shot when the actors are in motion. Each film catches a particular part of the motion. Thus a sequence of acting is recorded in several films in a fixed speed, as so many films per second. If the film role is projected in the same speed of rotation of the spools on which the film is wound, we will be able to witness the actual movements exactly. Now reverting to an individual, pure consciousness act as a screen and the sensory data is transmitted through the mind and by the power of the light of Atma, we visualise the scenerio and take it to be real. It is pure picturisation and not real. Vedanta expalains the universe in the same pattern. But for the screen, no picture can be seen. But during the duration of cinema, we never notice the screen. But screen is the only Truth and is permanant. It never undergoes any modifications due to the various scenes projected on it. There may be fire, there may be ocean, there may be earthquakes, famine etc. The pictures fall on the screen in quick succession. But the screen is absolutely unaffected. The screen is Pure Consciousness or Atma or Self. But for the Consciousness, nothing will be seen or noticed. But enamoured by the pictures, we completely forget the Screen. It is the Screen before projection, during the projection and after the cinema is over. Realise this great truth and ever remain in the Consciousness viewing everything as a witness. Sairam.
