In Sai Sat Charitha, there is a passage in which it is written, "Everything is Maya and it is the handywork of Brahman or God. Nothing is there actually and we are deluded due to the hiding and projecting powers of Maya. We perceive the world with the faulty senses and sense organs. What they convey is really illusion. Which is the power which cognizes the multifarious things in this world. For instance, the eye can only see and it can not hear and likewise the nose can only smell and it can not see. Every sense organ is meant for a particular feculty. The processing of information is done in the brain but the mind plays an important role. If the mind is absent or engaged otherwise, no information can pass on to the brain. Sometimes we may be looking at the TV but our mind may be engaged in some other task. If some body asks what programme you are watching, we can not tell them, though our eyes were looking at the pictures and the ear listening. Hence mind is the conduit for all senses. If the mind is disengaged, the senses fail to convey their information. Hence in all Yoga sadhana, it is essential to quell the mind completely. It is from the Self, mind ejects and the world is seen. If the mind becomes one with the Self, nothing is cognized by the individual and he becomes one with the Self. This is the aim of all sadhana. Hence Swami often says, "Kill the mind" or die mind. When the ego and body consciousness are removed, then the individual soul become one with the Self or Atma. Sairam.
