Guest guest
Desire for any worldly things will ultimately lead us to delusion and distress. Any worldly achievement is only 'momentary' and does not confer lasting joy on any. We are ourself witness to many such in our life. When we were single, we desire for a suitable companion to share our joys and grief. But nowadays many seek only joy from their partners and do not wish to share their woes or griefs. This is a natural psychology of human beings. There is a proverb regarding the horse. When grains are brought it will open its mouth willingly. When the rider want to tie the saddles and mouth bit, it refuses to open its mouth. But no joy in this world is pure or unadulterated. Every joy brings with it a shadow of grief unnoticed. Hence Swami has cautioned us, "Pleasure is the interval between two pains". But, at the same time it is our attitude that really counts. We open our heart for pleasure but we constrict at the face of pain. This is not a correct attitude. We must be open to all experiences. Day and night, heat and cold and all such pairs of opposite are part of the game of life. When you accept a coin, you have to accept both faces of the coin. Hence, we should not resist any thing or events in life. What we resist, persists. Hence do not react, or escape. Face life boldly. Swami has said, "Follow the Master(Conscience), Face the Devil, Fight upto the end and finish the game". Hence let us develop equinamity in our life and adhere to the teachings of Swami atleast from now onwards. Sairam.
