Guest guest
It is the 'bazzar pakoda' that attracts the people by its colour, flavour and taste. Do we ever ruminate over the after effects? It will lead to many serious stomach ailments. The oil is never changed until it becomes jet black. Scientists will tell the harmful effects of boiling the same oil again and again. Well, it is the way of the world. Swami, in one of his sweet discourses commented wryly, that the villagers are reluctant to drink a glass of butter milk from the seller but instead they throng to long distances to collect toddy which is very harmful to health. Likewise people do not turn to the places where religious discourses or rituals to proptiate the "Devas" through fire offerings are done for the welfare of the humanity. Rather people throng to cinema houses, cabare dances or clubs where all kind of illegal activities thrive like betting on cards, drinks etc. The mind of men are akin to 'fly' which seeks unhygenic places more often. It sits on the night soil, it thrives on sewage and sullage water. If it sees fire, it flies away from the place. At the same time, it sits on delicious food items also. The only way out is to offer the mind, sweet names of the lord and make it to repeat like a parrot. The names of the Lord should dance on the tongue for ever. Even when we are doing mundane things, hold on to the thoughts of God very often. It is Mahatma Gandhi who coined the words, "Dil Me Ram, Hath Me Kam". He truely followed Dharma and was repeating the name of Rama for ever. When the assasins bullets pierced his chest, He uttered Ram, Ram Ram and left His mortal coil. He was truely "Mahatma" in this Kali age. Hence, if we are keen to remember the sacred names of the Lord during our last moments, we should remember the name during all the times. Sairam.
