Guest guest
Today is Holy Mahashivarathri. A little more effort on the part of devotees to keep vigil on tonight singing Bhajans devotionally will be very much fruitful. The vibrations created by the chorus singing, surcharge the atmosphere with Divine vibrations. Like the chanting of Athi Rudra Maha Yagna, Bhajans too create such holy vibrations. In fact, bhajans are easy to sing than chanting the manthras contained in Sri Rudram and Chamakam. Only experienced Pundits can chant them with correct annotations pronouncing them properly. But Bhajans sung with devotional love towards God fetch much grace to all the singers. Not only during Mahashivarathri, but also during ordinary days, we must sing bhajans regularly in bhajan mandalis and during nagara sankeertans. They are the best antidotes for the polluted atmosphere. Sairam.
Guest guest
SAI RAM, I entirely agree with your views. Chanting Vedic Mantras is not everybody`s cup of tea. If one chants Vedic Mantras with wrong intonations (Swaras) it produces negative vibrations. They say that none should chant Vedic Mantras without receiving instructions from a competent Guru. Incidentally, the conservatists or the professional pundits are still opposed to ladies chanting Vedic Mantras. But there is no objection to anybody singing Bhajans. In fact, Namasmarana is the best form of Worship, declares the scriptures. No bar based on sex or age is applicable for Bhajan singing. In Bhajan singing Bhava is more important than other factors like tune, rythm etc. Singing like a professional singer without Bhakti Bhavam will do no good to the singer.
