Mind is a very delicate instrument. We have to handle it with care. It is like a double edged knife. It can cut vegetables and at the same time, it may hurt if improperly handled. Many consider the mind as "my mind'. But in reality it is not true. Just like ether or sky, mind is a subtle principle and it can not be possessed nor identified with any body. Like space, mind is all pervasive. Our brain acts like a radio tuner. When we tune to the correct station, we can hear the broadcast very clearly. If our tuning is improper, we will hear only disturbing noises. If you tune towards God, it will transmit elevating programme. Otherwise you will hear only noises which are absolutely meaningless. Our sojourn on this earth is not for time passing. We have been sent into this world in the human body with a specific purpose. If we compare animals and human, we are given special faculties like thinking mind, intellect, discrimination and discipline. Animals are motivated by inborn instincts. It can never differentiate between good and bad. It can not judge things based on past experiences. Also it can not choose. But man can really choose between good and evil. He has the ability to read, write and memorize. He can follow the foot steps of his peers and great people. In every aspect man is created to raise his conscious to that of God and ultimately merge in the Supreme consciousness.
