Guest guest
We all know that money attracts all whether they are "asthiks"(believers in god) or 'nasthiks"(non believers). Swami in his discourses has said the same fact, "there is no body who does not love a currency note",(however soiled it may seem). In temples all over India and other places also, money rules and it is a sad fact. There is only one place in the whole of India, where money is NOT involved. Every body knows that it is in "Prasanthi Nilayam", the holiest place on earth today, there is no hundi or collection boxes, you can find anywhere within the campus. Why? Swami has clarified several times, "wherever money transactions are involved, there spirituality can not gain foothold. Hence even for local Sai Samithis, there are strict instructions for desisting from donations etc for Sai Service activities. Instead, the members of the samithi themselves bear the expenditure. This is an unique practice. Members are informed priorhand the approximate expenditure involved for making arrangements for functions, bala vikas programmes, summer courses, medical camps etc. A small tin box is kept in a separate place where all the members of samithi would like to share the expenditure put in their mite. If money is found still short, the expenditure balance is afforded by members themselves. Thus there is no possibility of any complaints and the method is transparent as well as it won't involve other public. For to days ills in this world, money is the root cause which everybody knows. Even the richest countries, try to plunder other resourceful countries like oil rich countries in one pretext or other and jumble the economy of the whole world. Most of us know the volatile situations in stock markets due to problems in some western blocks. Money is also the reason for tension in middle class families as well as poor families. Money drive a wedge between husband and wife, parents and children, brothers and sisters and between friends also. Hence we should abhor 'greed' and miserliness and cultivate 'charity' and sacrifice which can make us selfless and egoless. Sairam.
