Swami took birth in the present form on 23 Nov 1926. Swami was asked where was He during the intervening period. Swami's answer is the Truth contained in Upanishad. I was present in the Cosmos and beyond. (Nowhere to go nor to come from anywhere, Presence is always there everywhere-It is the SAT- Existence, pure existence not pertaining to space or causation. All these bariers are only for the ego filled individual and not for the Self within. As the ether contained in a pot is one with the ether in the sky, there is only limitation for the observer.
