Guest guest
When I was walking through a path, I may step over thorns. That experience is enough to warn the passers by that they should avoid the particular path. Some say that only a perfect saint can preach or warn. Even ordinary people, who already suffered, have every authority to warn people about the misadventures that are awaiting them if they too trod the same path. When I was a boy many unwanted habits enticed me. I found no reason to dislodge them from my conscience for they have given me a temporary joy. Many who suffer in this world are slaves to smoking, drinking, gambling and other harmful habits. Initially they may feel that those habits are worth to keep in society. God too lend a long rope to such individuals and allow them to pursue their own avocations. Only when a great catastrophe falls upon them, they start introverting their mind towards finding a reason for the mishap. When god tightens the noose, you have to undergo all the miseries. Hence it would be prudent to avoid the company of bad people and remain in the company of good and noble people. A small example was given by Swami in one of his discourses. "When you find, you are holding a poisonous reptile in your hand, what will you do? Will you not flank it from your hand at once? Likewise all our bad habits are like poisonous creatures. Throw it away immediately. Otherwise it will inflict great harm to you. Sairam.
