Guest guest
When a new teacher seeing the attendace register sometimes wants to identify the pupils. He asks, "who is Adhi? A student answers, I am Sir, next Who is babu? He too answers in a similar fashion. The common answer is "I am". Now let us see what this "I am denotes". Everybody invariably introduces them as "I am so and so, I am an Engineer, I am a student. I am from a poor family, I am ill etc. The first person is denoted by I am and others are termed as He, She or it with reference to first person personal pronoun only. When we answer such questions, without realising the profound meaning, we simply assert as, "I am, I am. In truth, I am is existence, knowledge and bliss or Sat Chith Anandam. In Bible also, it is written, "Be still and know that I am God. In the stillness of conscious alone, this Truth will shine.
