The ultimate journey should be towards the northern direction, where the lord "Dakshinamurthy" sits facing the southern direction. The sun too commences its journey towards north on this "Holy Makara Sankaranthi " day. Swami, in his many discourses has narrated the speciality of this day, not only for the 'riots' but for the spiritual seekers as well. This is the bright half of the year. We have journeyed through the dark half and enters the bright half. Even yogis and satpurushas awaits the dawn of this period for merging in the Divine. Even Shri Bheesma Pitamaha, the grand old sire of Mahabarath, waited in his arrow bed for the dawn of this day. Atleast from now onwards let us jettison all those infirmities in our mind and tread through discrimination and detachment. Let us devote ourselves to the supreme with dispassion towards the worldly ambitions. Sairam.
