Guest guest
Many saints assert that the world is a false phenomenon. Scriptures too proclaims that only the Self or Atma is real and all else is illusion. But we cognize the world through our senses and feel it as real. How the information conveyed by the senses through the sense organs can be termed `illusion'? There is a way to infer this. We sleep during the night and we dream during the sleep. In the dream we visualize many things and we are also part of the dream. We go through many experiences which resembles waking stage. Only when we woke up from sleep, we realize that we were dreaming and all the experiences were illusion. Now we understand that all these sceneries are creations of the mind and we have not stirred from our bed. As the mind is capable of creating life like situations in the dream with all emotions brought to play and we listen to sounds, we see persons, we interact with them, and the same mind is capable of such play during our waking stage also. The only difference is that the senses were dormant during sleep and they were working during waking stage. Hence we can never assert that the waking stage is more real than the dream stage. Sairam.
